Child Care Resources and Referral

  • Resource and Referral...Helps parents locate quality child care and understand how to evaluate quality child care.  Provides corporate child care assistance.
  • Subsidized Child Care...Helps families afford to work. Keeps abused/neglected children safe during the day.

Family Resources

  • Family Empowerment Project...Offers short-term preventative case management, on-going developmental monitoring and parent education materials.
  • CATCH Program...Speech/Language screening, evaluation and therapy provided by licensed therapists for children ages two - five who are enrolled in child care.
  • H.I.P.P.Y....Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters, a program designed to serve parents who want educational enrichment for their children.
  • Crisis Intervention...Helps parents immediately resolve significant family stressors.
  • Parent Resource Specialist...Available on-site to assist families with community resources utilizing the Whole Child model.
  • Hearing and Vision Screening...Provided for all children enrolled in child care.

Healthy Families Manatee

  • Home Visiting...Assists families with newborns with all issues.
  • Developmental Screening...Identifying early developmental issues before they become problems.
  • Activities to Support Optimal Development...Educating parents to ensure school readiness.
  • Support Development of Family Medical Home...Assists in the process of connecting families to a "Family Medical Home" to assist with immunizations and well baby care.

Quality Assurance

  • Assessment and Monitoring...Assists child care staff to improve their services.
  • Specialty Services...Training, technical assistance, and mentoring are available from infant/toddler, school-age, and health consultants to all community programs.
  • Caregiver Training Services...Enables child care staff to meet state mandatory training requirements.
