Provider Training Requirements
Listed below are some of the training requirements that must be met in order to be a care giver in a child care environment.
Child Care Centers
- Receive 40 hours of initial training.
- Complete a minimum of 10 hours of training annualy
- Submit screening / background check.
- Maintain current certification of CPR and first aid.
Family Child Care Homes
- Registered Homes
- Complete 30-hour family child care course prior to caring for children.
- Complete 10 clock hours of training annually.
- Licensed Homes
- Meet all requirements of a Registered Home plus...
- Maintain current certification of CPR and first aid.
- Comply with licensing standards of local and state governments
Voluntary Prekindergarten
- School Year Program - minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA).
- Summer Program - minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- Be able to mett or exceed the high standards set by the Florida State Law.
School Age Child Care
- Receive 40 hours of training initially
- Complete a minimum 10 hours of training annually.
