2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that, where available, connects people with important community services and volunteer opportunities. 2-1-1 can provide callers with information about and referrals to human services for every day needs and times of crisis. 2-1-1 can help you access the following types of services:
- Basic Human Needs Resource: food banks, shelter, rent and utility assistance, etc.
- Physical & Mental Health Resources: health insurance programs, Medicare and Medicaid, crisis intervention services, counseling, etc.
- Employment Support: job training, transportation assistance, educational programs, etc
- Support for Older Americans and Persons with Disabilities: home health care, transportation, etc.
- Support for Children, Youth and Families: childcare, mentoring, tutoring, protective services, etc
